When my study finished at AIE I thought, "What should I work on next?"  Continually striving to diversify and learn I determined that a mobile game was the next thing to develop.  The initial brief was simply to create any kind of project and get it playing on my phone, so that I could understand the processes that were required to do so.

Then I had the idea to make an adaptation of my previous game Blockhead for mobile.  I wanted to make it different from the PC version, so that I could learn another skill at the same time.  So I decided that an endless runner would accommodate nicely, as this was also a game type I hadn't developed before.

I also wanted to keep a lot of the little details that made the original Blockhead so charming, such as the way the player bounced along, the original colours and music, as well as the players ability to jump when they are close to the platforms (even if it's gravity defying).

So I currently have a version working on mobile.  It has a main menu, small tutorial screen, score, high score and all the music and sounds.  There's a couple of little bugs to be ironed out but I'm pretty happy with the result so far and I have certainly exceeded my initial expectations.
